I asked one of the florists at Sweet Stems for help. When I told them I was looking for a red orchid, they put my in touch with a local gardener.

Ah, so you had your flower of choice all picked out before you went looking. What made you pick the red orchid in particular?

Well, red is your signature color. I spotted an orchid in the florist a few months ago. I thought it was a rather elegant looking plant. A bit more character than a rose really. A big plus is the fact they're often sold potted. Means it'll last as long as you want it to.
